MPs say tax should be placed on foods high in salt or sugar to help fight obesity

MPs state that higher rates of tax should be placed on unhealthy foods with high fat, sugar or salt content as a “possible measure to tackle childhood obesity”. They also suggest that the sugar tax, which currently only applies to fizzy drinks, should be extended to puddings and milkshakes.
